Easy Skateboard Tricks - Backside 180

The Backside 180 is a slightly harder trick to master than the Frontside 180, mainly because you can't see where your going to land for half the time your in the air. For this trick your going to want to be very comfortable with your ollies and riding switch/fakie, this will make it a heck of a lot easier for you to learn the trick.

Step 1. Start off riding at a reasonable pace, not too fast because chances are the first couple of times you try this trick you won't make it the complete 180.

Step 2. You're going to want to set up for this trick similar to an ollie, you might want to put you're front foot a bit lower than usual just to have more pop, but it's all about personal preference and what works for you.

Step 3. Now before you even pop the skateboard wind up your upper body the opposite way that your going to spin that way you'll have a good force to make the full 180.

Step 4. As you pop swing your upper body around to the 180 mark, this will automatically make your lower body come around with the skateboard. Try to pop as high as you can to allow as much time as possible for you to do the spin.

Tip. It helps if you dip your leading shoulder in a bit, you might do this automatically but it really helps to get that last 90 degrees which is the hardest part.

Step 5. Once you make the full 180 balance out your upper body and make sure not to keep spinning after the full 180

Step 6. As you hit the ground absorb the impact and ride away smoothly.

Happy Skateboarding!
