Setting Up a Skateboard

After purchasing your first skateboard you will now need to assemble it properly. You will have 5 components to a skateboard...One Board, Two Trucks, Four Wheels, Eight Bearings, Eight Hardware and Four Truck Bolts

Step 1. Get your board and put your eight peices of hardware through each one of the eight designated holes on your board, keep the eight bolts to the side for use later and make sure the flat sides of the hardware go with the griptape.

Step 2. Take your two trucks and firmly place each one of them into the eight bolts you just put through your board on the non griptape side. MAKE SURE that the flat side of the trucks are facing out and the kingpins are facing each other!

Step 3. Put those eight bolts that belong to the hardware on each screw and tighten using either a star screwdriver (or allen key depending on what type of hardware you bought) and a wrench or skateboard tool that fits the bolts properly. Tighten the hardware until it won't budge.

Step 4. Now take your eight bearings and put them in the holes on either side of your four wheels. Sometimes this take a lot of preasure one tip is to put the bearing on the axle of your truck and push the wheel down onto the bearing.

Step 5. Once you have your bearings on your wheels put each wheel on to the axle of your trucks, you can put the graphics of your wheels on the outside or inside of your board the advantage of putting them on the inside is that they wont fade as fast.

Step 6. Now just take your four truck bolts and screw them on to each axle of the truck. Tighten them with a wrench or skateboard tool that fits, the key is to tighten them until till they hit the wheels and then loosen them about one or two turns.

Step 7.GO SKATEBOARD!
